Turned our Safe Start Plan into an easy to navigate website providing our community with all of the information they need to know their students are protected while at school.
With teachers already over worked and under a lot of stress I have created a place for students to go to learn about the technology resources the school offers as well as generic skills like email etiquette.
For years teachers have complained that they don't know what tools we have and how to get to them. A couple years ago a document was created and I turned that document into a website to help stay current with new tools.
Seeing a need for continued professional development, reminders of awesome tools we have access to and updates I started a technology newsletter. These newsletters are created with the teachers at my district in mind and are sent out on Monday morning. The subject is always Happy Monday! , I don't know that it puts a smile on their face but it I like to think it does.
As a teacher I worked with a fellow Teacher to create a huge cross curricular project. Students interviewed community member, pitched ideas to their classmates, voted on worthy projects, presented proposals to the superintendent, marketed, funded and completed their projects, then presented their progress to the community. We presented this project to groups of teachers all over central Texas and were so proud of our students accomplishments.
